Helpful Hints For Ordering Bridesmaids Dresses
Many brides call and order all their bridesmaids dresses at one time and charge the entire amount to one credit card. There are many advantages to ordering this way. The bride can relax because she knows that all her bridesmaids will have a dress, and she was personally able to check the style and color when they arrived.  We  receive very large shipments of dresses from the factories.  Most shipments we receive will have dye lots that vary slightly in color and finish.  If you order all of your dresses on one order, we will do our best to pull dresses from the same or similar dye lots so that they all match.  If the dresses are ordered individually, it is possible that the dresses received by each individual could be from different dye lots.  Although they will be close, there could be slight differences in the color and finish.  Please remember that you have 7 days to do an exchange or return.  If all your bridesmaids live in your same city, 7 days gives you ample time to have them try the dresses on for fit.  If your bridesmaids live in other cities, it will probably take more than 7 days for you to mail a dress to them and have them mail it back if it does not fit.  If you are concerned that they may need to exchange the dresses, and if they all live in different cities, it may not be wise to have all the dresses sent directly to you, because we must hold with our 7 day return policy.   Instead, you may wish to pay a separate freight fee for each dress and have us send them directly to each bridesmaid.  Please inform them that they have 7 days to do a return or exchange.

Other brides prefer to have each individual bridesmaid call and place their own order on their own credit card one dress at a time. Ordering each dress individually works fine, but it must be done the right way. The right way is for the bride to call and make sure all the sizes, in the style and color she wants, are in stock. If they are in stock, each bridesmaid needs to try and place their order that same day. An example follows of what can happen if it is not done this way:

A bride has chosen style 297 in red. She needs five pieces total. One size 8, two size 12, one size 16, and one size 24. She calls to make sure they are all in stock. We tell her that we have several pieces hanging in each size. She calls her bridesmaids and tells them the dresses are in stock. She tells them to please call and place their order today. The bridesmaids wearing the sizes 8, 12, and 24 call that same day to order their dress. We ship them that day and they receive them within a week. However, the girl wearing the size 16 does not call the same day. She forgets about it and then remembers to call two weeks later. It is possible, that when she calls, we no longer have the 297 red size 16 in stock because they have all been sold for other weddings, and we may not be getting any more in for three or four months. This means she would not be able to get her dress in time for the wedding. The bride could pick another style or color, but what about the four girls who have already received their dresses and have had them longer than the 7 day return period.

This is why it is very important to have all the bridesmaids order their dresses on the same day that the bride checks the stock. We sell many dresses every day across the country and the inventory can change quickly.

Please Note:  If your bridesmaids live in different cities and you choose to have each bridesmaid call and place their own order, you should have some way to verify that each bridesmaid has indeed received the correct dress.  You do not want to meet for rehearsal the day before the wedding and discover that one of the bridesmaids has the wrong dress.  It is possible for a bridesmaid to make a mistake and accidentally order the wrong style or color.  For example, customers often refer to lavender and orchid as the same color even though they are very different.  It is also possible that we could make a mistake when we pull and pack the order.  Things like that are very rare, but the bride needs to make sure her bridesmaids have received the correct dresses well in advance of the wedding.  Below are a few suggestions for checking the dresses prior to the wedding.

1.  Most dresses need to have the length altered.  The bridesmaid could save a piece of the fabric after it is cut off the bottom of the dress.  Then she could mail the fabric to the bride so she could check the color.

2.  After a bridesmaid receives her dress, she can take a photo of the dress and email it to the bride.

3.  The bride can have a "get together" with her bridesmaids well in advance of the wedding and have them bring their dresses so she can check them.

Again, the best way to know the dresses are correct is to order them all yourself and have
them shipped to your location.  However, if that is not possible, please find some way to
check the dresses well in advance of the wedding.
